Utada Hikaru - テイク 5 (Take 5)
The namesake of this community (take is pronounced "teiku" in Japanese), and my favorite song from Heart Station! Hikki herself said that she got inspiration from Kenji Miyazawa's novel "A Night on the Milky Way Railroad", and that it describes a sort of...out-of-body experience, when one is near death, "dying and becoming like the stars". There's quite a good interpretation of the song here (there's also another translation on that page, if you want to compare).

-------------------------------------------------

Collapsing onto the freezing grass
I want to hide my flushing body

Midwinter constellations are my companions
Always there, waiting for me

I'm in a great mood today
There is no despair or hope
I want to become transparent like the sky

When we don't meet, our fighting and
disillusionments also disappear

The wind sharp as a knife
My speed rises
My take 5

What is my happiness like?
There is no success or failure
I want to become transparent like the sky

I take off my coat and step inside
There is no beginning or end
Today, I simply want to live
